The Interact Club of Royal Institute began its journey in 2005, and after a brief pause, it was brought back to life in 2016 by Int. PP. Pradeesh Paheerathan and his team, with support from the Interact Club of Isipathana College. This revival marked the start of a new era for ICRI, and it hasn’t looked back since.
Each year brought with it a new wave of excitement and leadership. Int. Milsath Ahamed took the reins in 2017, followed by Int. Kevin Jason in 2018, both of whom led the club through a series of remarkable projects. But it was in 2019, under the leadership of Int. Fauza Faheem, that ICRI really began making waves.
The club continued to rise under Int. Ahamed Noohu’s presidency in 2020, and in 2021, with Int. Tashiya Jayman guiding the way, ICRI strengthened its member bonds and reached new heights. Int. Nadun Nirmala’s term in 2022 was historic, as ICRI became the first international school-based club to win the prestigious Governor’s Shield at the 33rd Interact District Assembly.

Int. Piyathma De Zoysa followed in 2023, fostering a strong sense of community and upholding the club’s reputation for excellence. Now, under the vibrant leadership of Int. Sanuka D. Liyanage, we’re ready to push the boundaries even further and leave an even bigger impact on the world around us.
With over 100 passionate members and the backing of the Rotary Club of Colombo Fort, ICRI continues to be a powerhouse of creativity, service, and camaraderie. Our signature projects – “Save Our Lives,” “Hoop Troop,” “Retro Wave,” and “Desi Night” – aren’t just events; they’re movements that bring people together and spark positive change.
This is ICRI – where service meets passion, and every step forward is an opportunity to make a difference.
